Salt Lake City, Utah
The University of Utah Men’s Division 2 Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Cole Turner for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Turner was born in Squamish, British Columbia Canada, where he learned to play hockey. When he was 6 years old, he moved to Dubai, UAE, and continued to play hockey there. In his 8 years overseas, he got to travel to many different European countries to play in tournaments and play alongside players from all over the world.
At 14 years old, he moved to Seattle, Washington, where he played his 16u and 18u years with the Sno King Jr. Thunderbirds in the Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association (PNAHA) and the Northwest Stars in the North American Prospect Hockey League (NAPHL), where he attended Nationals in 2022. Turner extended his Juniors for one more year to play on the East Coast for both the Connecticut Jr. Rangers and the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) Premier Division, attending nationals in Utica with the Knights.
Turner is “looking forward to continuing to play hockey and getting to know the team and the organization.” Outside of hockey, he likes anything to do with the outdoors.
“We were excited to get Cole’s commitment for the upcoming season. He brings a fantastic ability to move with the puck and create high-danger opportunities for himself and his teammates. We’re excited to see him thrive in his career here at the U,” said Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius.
Turner plans to study Biomedical Engineering at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Cole and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
