Karsten Senden (D) commits to Utah M1

The University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Defenseman Karsten Senden for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Senden grew up in Eagle River, Alaska playing hockey for the Anchorage North Stars. He moved to Michigan to play for Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club, where his team won the USA Hockey 15U National Championship. He also spent a season with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies.
After Michigan, Senden moved to Minnesota and played for the Granite City LumberJacks and the Alexandria Blizzard in the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL). While playing for the Blizzard they played in the Fraser Cup Final.
“I am very excited to come to Utah. It is an amazing environment to play in with competitive teammates, and I know it will push me and my teammates to greatness,” said Senden.
In his free time, he loves rock climbing, cyclocross biking, hiking, anything in the mountains, and all sports and physical activity.
“I am excited to have Karsten join the Utah Hockey family. He is a big body with a very strong shot and can move the puck north in a skilled matter. He is a true team player who will add skill and leadership to our defensive end,” said Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie.
Senden plans to study Engineering at the U.
