Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Women’s Division 1 Hockey has received a commitment from Defense Addisen Greenwood for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Greenwood comes to Salt Lake from Team Alaska AAA 19u and the Alaska Oilers program in Anchorage, Alaska.
Addisen’s passion for hockey began whene her family was at the local hockey shop buying hockey gear for her little brother. She had no interest until she saw how cool the helmet looked and asked her parents if she could play too. She soon fell in love with the game and is never happier than when she is on the ice.
Greenwood mentioned, “I am so grateful for the extended family I have shared so many championship titles with, national tournaments, and amazing memories from the hotel shenanigans. My favorite memory is playing knee hockey in the hotel hallway during Nationals.”
Before playing college hockey, she wore jersey #44 because of that one GEICO commercial with Icky Woods shuffle. Her dad and she always thought it was such a funny commercial.
“Addisen is a very strong defender that isn’t afraid to get in your way. She’s great at holding the zone and walking the blue line. She can either lock down the defensive zone or help generate offense,” said Women’s Division 1 Head Coach Rodney Stedt.
Greenwood plans to study Business at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Addisen and wish her the absolute best in the upcoming season!
