Utah W1 maintains #16 national ranking

The American Collegiate Hockey Association Women’s Division 1 rankings have been released for the eleventh time this season, with your Skatin’ Utes maintaining their national ranking of #16.
Utah W1 have earned a 15-6-1 record with two weeks remaining in their regular season.
The Utes have played strong all year while only taking loses against defending National Champions Liberty University., WWCHL rivals Colorado, Colorado State, and #8 Arizona State.
Sonia Charman continues to lead the Utes is with 26 points (11G, 15A). Followed by Katherine Zeschuk with 22 points (8G, 14A), Kendall Ketchum with 19 points (9G, 10A), Morgan Lavalley with 14 points (9G, 5A), and Ashley Paterson with 12 points (9G, 3A).
Tandem goaltenders Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine and Miranda De Antunano have been equally impressive during Utah’s season. Rookie goalie Robinson-Prefontaine is 7-3 with a 2.40 GAA and a .924 save percentage. De Antunano has a 8-5 record with 2.79 GAA and .901 save percentage.
The Western Women’s Collegiate Hockey League, of which Utah W1 is a member, had a decent performance with three (of 7) of its member teams ranked in the top 20. The Women’s Midwest College Hockey League has six (of 8) member teams ranked, while the Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association has eight (of 12) of its member teams ranked in the top 20.
The ACHA uses two computer rankings generated by USHSHO.com, Ranking A (Wins with Maximum Goal Differential of 7) and Ranking B (Wins with Maximum Goal Differential of 1), and come up with an average of the two rankings. The ACHA will then use the list generated from the average for its weekly ranking. Ties will be broken using the higher ranked team from Ranking B until the Top 20 teams are listed. All games that go to overtime will be scored as ties in the computer ranking.
Now in its 26th season of action, there have been a total of 10 schools that have won the ACHA Women’s Division 1 National Championship: Adrian, Liberty (7), Lindenwood (4), Miami (3), Michigan State (2), Minnesota, Northeastern, Robert Morris (2), St. Cloud State, and Wisconsin (2).
A total of 34 teams are competing in Women’s Division 1 this season, including one new full member team, Eastern Michigan University, and two probationary members, University of Washington, and University of New Mexico.
The computer ranking will determine the 10 teams that qualify for the 2026 ACHA Women’s Division 1 National Championships, which will include the following three automatic bids:
-(CCWHA) Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association
-(WWCHL) Western Women’s Collegiate Hockey League
-(WMCHL) Women’s Midwest College Hockey League
The ninth ranking of the regular season will be released on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
