Utah Heads To Logan
December 6, 2013
Salt Lake City, UT
With only three games left before the team leaves for the winter break, the Utah Skatin’ Utes have one final game against a ranked opponent and it’s a big one.
On Friday night, the fourth-ranked Utes head to Logan for the final time this season to take on the second-ranked Utah State Aggies. It’s the third meeting between these two teams with both teams picking up one win so far in the series.
Much like the other in-state battles this season, hom ice has played a huge factor as the home side has not lost a game so far in this series. The Utes were able to pick up a 3-1 win back in September while the Aggies best the Utes 4-2 in Logan in November.
Both sides have had a chance to regroup after a long Beehive Showcase two weeks ago, where the Utes went 2-2 for the weekend while the Aggies went 2-1.
Friday’s game will be the final ranked matchup for both teams as they both will look to make a statement before the third of five rankings this year will come out before the Christmas holiday. It’s also the last game of the semester for Utah State while Utah will wrap up the month next week against Boise State and BYU.
Injuries and penalties have been the achilles’ heel for the Utes as of late, with the Utes missing several players and giving up five power play goals in their two losses in the showcase. With some of those Utes expected to be back in the lineup against Utah State, the Utes will look to break the home winning trend in the state of Utah.
Friday’s game starts at 7pm in Logan and will be streamed live here.
