Donovan O’Shea (D) commits to Utah M2

University of Utah Men’s Division 2 Hockey has received a commitment from Defenseman Donovan O’Shea for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Donovan’s passion for hockey started after going to his first NHL game at Wells Fargo Center to see the Philadelphia Flyers play the New York Rangers. From that point forward, O’Shea was in love with the game of hockey. He grew up in Saratoga Springs, New York. He started playing travel hockey by the time he was seven. When O’Shea turned 11 years old, he started playing AAA hockey for the CP Dynamo, which he played for the next 3 years.
The year before high school, he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he started playing for the Indianapolis Racers. He played for the Racers for two year before the organization combined with the Indy Jr Fuel. He played for the Jr Fuel for one more year and then switched organizations his junior year of high school to play for the Tri State Spartans AAA. O’Shea played for the Spartans for the past two seasons on their 16u team as well as their 18u team.
“Utilizing Donovan’s elite skating and vision will be a big focal point for us offensively and defensively this year. We’re very excited to have him on the team for the 2022 – 2023 season,” Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius said.
O’Shea plans to study Business at the U.
