Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Women’s Division 1 Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Aylin Aichele for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Aylin started playing roller hockey at the age of 7 at a new inline rink in her hometown, Oakland, California. Her dad introduced her to hockey and she quickly fell in love with it. She went on to play for the San Jose Inline Sharks travel roller hockey team and then for Mission Mayhem both based in San Jose, California for five consecutive seasons (2014-2018). During her couple of years of travel hockey experience, she started to show interest in ice hockey. Aichele made a very easy transition out of inline hockey to ice hockey at the age of 14, when she joined the Oakland Bears Hockey Club 14uB (2018-2019). After one season with the Oakland Bears, she began playing for her first ever all girls team, the San Jose Junior Sharks 16uAAA. After playing AAA for a season, she left the San Jose Junior Sharks to join the Tri-Valley Lady Blue Devils 19uAA team and played through her senior year where her team made it to Districts and got to compete in Fairbanks, Alaska (2020-2022).
In the offseason, Aichele still competes in high-level roller hockey tournaments and enjoys playing on different teams and team levels.
“Aylin is such a talented player. Her skills are sharp but her creativity is what makes her shine. We can’t wait to see what she creates this year and are confident it’ll end up in the highlight reels,” Women’s Division 1 Head Coach Braeden Yeo said.
Aichele plans to study Psychology at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Aylin and wish her the absolute best in the upcoming season!
