Salt Lake City, Utah
The University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Goaltender Garrett Fuller for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Fuller grew up playing hockey in a small town in Alberta, Canada before moving to a city just outside Calgary. During his first years in high school, he played hockey for the Edge School Mountaineers Varsity and Prep teams in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). He then played for the AAA AC Avalanche and finished up his high school career with the CFR Chemicals AAA Bisons in the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) of the Airdrie Minor Hockey Association (AMHA)
After minor hockey, Fuller played 3 years in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) with the Drumheller Dragons. He earned a starting spot his last year as well as Defensive Player of the Week the last week of his junior career.
Fuller played for San Diego State University last season and played 23 games with a .898% save percentage before transferring to the University of Utah.
“Utah was one of the toughest teams we played against. I am thrilled to be able to come to the University of Utah and join such a great team and school. I am excited to have the opportunity to contribute to a team that wants to win a national championship,” said Fuller.
“I am thrilled to have Garrett join our team next season. He is an incredibly structured goaltender with excellent movement. Last year, I had the opportunity to watch him in multiple ACHA games, where he consistently faced 45+ shots and kept the games close. With one year of ACHA hockey and experience as a starter in the AJHL, Garrett will greatly enhance our goaltending depth and contribute to our continued success,” said Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie.
Fuller plans to study Finance at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Garrett and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
