After not playing last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Utah Women’s ACHA D1 hockey team is back on the ice this season as the 2021-22 schedule is released.
The ladies play 22 games this season and will once again compete in the Women’s Western Collegiate Hockey League, playing 12 conference games against the best teams in the west.
The Utes open the season on the road as they take on Denver University October 8th and 9th. They’ll be on the road for the rest of the month as they take on Rhode Island October 14th and University of Massachusetts, Amherst October 15th and 16th, then head to the United States Air Force Academy for games on October 29th and 30th.
The Utes have four games in November and will play their first home games of the season on November 12th and 13th against University of Colorado. Utah goes back on the road the next weekend to take on Grand Canyon University November 20th and 21st to wrap up the 2021 calendar year.
In January, the Utes start 2022 at Colorado on the 15th and 16th before hosting Air Force on the 28th and 29th. Utah has four more conference games in February before the WWCHL tournament, hosting Arizona State February 4th and 5th and Colorado State on the 11th and 12th. The WWCHL tournament will take place in Tempe, Arizona February 18th through the 20th, 2022.
If the Utes can finish in the top eight of the final ACHA W1 rankings at the end of the season, they’ll have a chance to play for a national title at the ACHA Women’s D1 National Championships March 15th through the 20th.
