Alex King (F) Commits to Utah

The University of Utah Skatin’ Utes would like to announce that they have received a commitment from forward Alex King for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.
Alex hails from Gillete, WY and most recently played for the Gillette Wild of the NA3HL, where he spent the last four years of his hockey career from 2012 to 2016. In that span Alex played a total of 200 games for the Wild, where he tallied 84 goals and 83 assists for 167 total points which is good for second all-time in Gillette team history. He was also captain of the Wild his final two years and led the team in scoring last season.
Academically, Alex graduated as a Salutatorian from Campbell County High School in Gillette in 2013 and is graduating from Gillette College this spring with Honors and an Associate’s Degree. He will be studying civil engineering at the U.
“I’m very excited to join the Skatin’ Utes this fall and am looking forward to helping the team make the jump into ACHA D1,” King said. “The program has built a winning tradition and I want to continue to be a part of it.”
The University of Utah hockey team will compete at the ACHA Division I level for the first time next season as the team begins its tenth year as a member of the ACHA.
