Salt Lake City, UT
University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Brooke Burns for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
Brooke Burns is from Cottonwood Heights, Utah where she graduated from Brighton High School in 2018. She began playing hockey when she was three years old and grew up playing co-ed hockey aside from one all-girls team. Burns played on the Varsity Hockey team for four years where she had the opportunity to win a Utah State Championship in 2017. Usually being the only girl on the team, she developed her skills while playing in a male dominated, full-contact environment.
Head Coach Marietti commented, “Brooke is a very welcome addition to the program, and we look forward to her experience and passion to be shown on the ice.”
Burns is in the Nursing Early Assurance Program at the U as well as being on the Dean’s List. She plans to become a Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse at Primary Children’s Hospital after graduation.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Brooke and wish her the absolute best in the upcoming season!
