The University of Utah Men’s Division 2 Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Aiden Umina for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Umina was born and raised in Newton, Massachusetts where he played for their youth program for a few years and then played on many club teams in the greater Boston area. Umina played on the varsity team at Newton North High School as well as playing half seasons with the Boston Junior Rangers all four years. At Newton North, he was a captain in his junior and senior years. In Umina’s senior year, he was selected by the Massachusetts State High School Hockey Association (MSHCA) to play in the Connecticut-Massachusets Border Challenge All-Star Game.
His other hobbies include running, lacrosse, fishing, and playing the guitar.
“Aiden is a fantastic addition to our team this year. He brings a ton of skill with the puck and a great ability to win battles in the corners with his high IQ and strong frame. We are elated that he chose to commit to the U this season,” said Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius.
Umina plans to study Business at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Aiden and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
