Austin Tautfest (F) commits to Utah

University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Austin Tautfest for the upcoming 2018-19 season.
Tautfest, a native of Denver, Colorado, attended the Loomis Chafee School in Windsor, Connecticut. The Pelicans won the New England High School Championship in 2014 followed by two consecutive appearances in the Elite 8 Quarter Finals during Austin’s career. After graduation, Austin played for the WSHL Utah Outliers for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. This past season Austin played for the WSHL Colorado Junior Eagles and the Superior RoughRiders and tallied 34 points in 40 games.
Head Coach Brett Huras stated, “Austin is a highly-skilled forward with tons of experience at the prep-school and junior level. We expect him to make an impact on Utah Hockey immediately.”
Tautfest plans to study Pre-Medicine at the U.
