The University of Utah Skatin’ Utes would like to announce that the team has received a commitment from Defenseman Cody West for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.
Cody is from Valencia, CA and has been playing hockey since he was eight years old. Cody graduated from West Ranch High School in 2014 where he played on the lacrosse team as well as playing hockey, and then attended College of the Canyons for two years.
Most recently, Cody played for the Valencia Flyers Jr. A hockey team for the 2015-2016 season, where he helped the Flyers earn the best record in the WSHL at 45-7-0 as well as the best record in Flyers franchise history. While playing for the Flyers Cody registered 94 penalty minutes and 13 points in 46 games played. Cody is a very physical and aggressive defenseman, but also likes to get involved in the offensive play and put the puck on net.
Cody plans on studying Biology at the U, and also plans on going to medical school to pursue a career in the medical field when he graduates.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Cody and wish him the best of luck in the upcoming season.
