Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Men’s Division 2 Hockey has received a commitment from Defenseman Ethan Overman for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Overman has been playing hockey for well over a decade now. He spent time with the San Diego Saints before entering high school. He started playing for Compuware and then transitioned to playing for his high school, the Luthern Lancers and Anaheim Jr Ducks 18AAA. In his last year with the Jr. Ducks, he also played in the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) for the Utah Outliers and Rock Springs Grizzlies.
Over his hockey career, Overman had many memorable moments such as scoring the overtime winner in the California 15AAA state championship while they were shorthanded. Over the last four years, his team won four state championships at the AAA level.
“Ethan is a great skating D man with the ability to both move and make plays with the puck. His offensive ability from the blue line and vision on the ice will add a significant threat with the puck to our defensive unit. His skating ability and instincts will be a huge add for us on the defensive side of the game as well where we’re always looking to be aggressive,” said Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius.
Overman plans to study XXX at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Ethan and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
