Salt Lake City, Utah
The University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Defenseman Jake Laurila for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Jake is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He played four seasons for the Milwaukee Junior Admirals, followed by Juniors, half a season with the Rochester Grizzlies, and the other half of 2021-2022 with the Chippewa Steel.
He then spent his first year of college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Laurila feels that he is a “puck-moving, physical defenseman who plays simple hockey and is very excited to meet the boys and start going to school in Utah because it is a beautiful campus and town.”
“Laurila is another addition who will greatly impact our defensive core next season. Jake is a tough skilled defenseman with a high level of hockey experience. He is a player who will immediately come in and be a leader for us in multiple aspects of the game. I am looking forward to having him join the Utah Hockey Family,” said Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie.
Laurila plans to study Business Finance at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Jake and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
