Karsen Wight (F) Commits to Utah

Utah Hockey June 24, 2021
June 24, 2021 Salt Lake City, Utah University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Karsen Wight for the upcoming 2021-22 season.

Karsen was born in Sandy, Utah, and grew up playing hockey for the Utah Junior Grizzlies, the Utah Outliers, and West Coast Renegades . Wight’s freshman year of high school, he moved to Centennial, Colorado to play for the T1EHL Thunderbirds while attending Chaparral High School and then Cherry Creek High School.

Wight moved back to Utah following his sophomore year to play for the West Coast Renegades again as well as his High School, the Brighton Bengals. As Captain of the team, he was the highest ranked player, putting up 39 points in 52 games.

“I was able to complete my junior and senior year along with playing hockey all this past year; allowing me to graduate early. I am very excited to continue my hockey career with the University of Utah,” said Wight. In the offseason, he enjoys going to the lake and the extra free time he has. “We are thrilled to have picked up Wight. He is a big assertive power forward who will add depth to our offensive attack. I really like his work ethic and gritty style of play. I am excited to see him wear down the opposing team. Karsen will fit in well with our plans for next year,” Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie. Wight plans to study Business at the U. Utah Hockey would like to welcome Karsen and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
