Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Women’s Division 1 Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Kylie Lagerquist for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Lagerquist began playing hockey at 6 years old on her hometown ice of The Valley Event Center in Glasgow, MT. Her drive for hockey began as she watched her cousin play hockey on Saturdays after her skating lessons. She played mite & squirt hockey until she was 9 years old, then she joined the girl’s 12u/14u team to play competitively for the Glasgow Ice Dawgs, in the Montana Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) and the North Dakota Amateur Hockey Association(NDAHA).
When she was 14 years old, she tried out for the Montana Big Sky Wildcats. After giving her commitment to the team, she played for both the Ice Dawgs and the Wildcats for her freshman and sophomore years of high school. During her sophomore year of high school, she helped lead the Ice Dawgs as an Assistant Captain to win the Montana Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) 19u Girls State Champions. She was also awarded MAHA All-State Team in 2020 & 2022.
In her final two years of high school, Lagerquist continued to play for the Ice Dawgs as well as Team Wyoming. During her time with Wyoming, she attended two national championships, in Omaha, Nebraska (2021) and Dallas, Texas (2022).
After high school, she committed to Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) where she played 2 seasons of ACHA D2 Women’s college hockey. Both years at DCB, the Lumberjacks attended the ACHA National Tournament, advancing to the final four, in Marlborough Massachusetts (2023), and St. Louis, Missouri (2024). While at DCB, Lagerquist received an associate degree in advertising and marketing.
“Kylie is a forward who is always taking away space. She’s always on the puck and will be creating a lot of turnovers leading to quick rushes and chances,” said Women’s Division 1 Head Coach Rodney Stedt.
Lagerquist plans to study Business at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Kylie and wish her the absolute best in the upcoming season!
