Men’s D1 Team heads to ACHA National Championships

The University of Utah Men’s Division 1 Hockey team is headed to the American Collegiate Hockey Assocation (ACHA) National Tournament for the first time since their move to Division 1 in 2016.
“Recently our team has demonstrated exceptional determination and execution on the ice, propelling us to the #12 ranking. And this last weekend’s decisive wins against Iowa State continue to propel the team forward in their success and we will head to Nationals an even stronger group,” said Head Coach Morgan Feenie. Coach Feenie was recently named WCHL Coach of the Year.
The Skatin’ Utes have been pushing hard to close the regular season with a 16-10-2 record including signature wins over #5 UNLV at home and #3 Central Oklahoma on the road.
Team Captain Dylan Dix said, “The guys have been working really hard to prove we can compete with the top programs and our latest wins showcase that. We are excited and ready to head to Nationals!”
The Skatin’ Utes competes in Division 1 of the ACHA, and for the 2023-24 season there are 72 teams from top colleges and universities across the nation.
Utah Hockey is a non-varsity sport and does not receive funding through the University of Utah. Donations are being accepted on the 2024 Utah Hockey Nationals Donation Page.
