Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Men’s Division 2 Hockey has received a commitment from Goaltender Michael Biller for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Michael grew up in St. Michael, Minnesota. He started playing hockey at 4 years old. Two years later, he committed to playing goalie and became one of the top goaltenders in his age division and was sought after by many AAA teams in Minnesota. Biller has faced shots from some of the top players in Minnesota, many of which are now drafted in the NHL.
Biller’s greatest accomplishment was leading the Monticello Moose to the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament his senior year. Leading into one of the most prestigious hockey tournaments in the nation, he had a 93.3% save percentage and a 2.33 GAA. His leadership as a captain of the team helped propel his team to believe they deserved a shot at the big dance. According to many in the community, Biller’s play and leadership were one of the main reasons the Moose accomplished their goal of representing their section in the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament.
“We’re very excited to add Michael to the Utes for the upcoming 2022 – 2023 season. Michael’s quickness and technical ability in net will be huge for us and we look forward to him helping us add to the win column this year,” Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius said.
Biller plans to study Engineering at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Michael and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
