Salt Lake City, Utah
It’s been so far so good for the University of Utah Skatin’ Utes, as the team has posted a 4-0-1 record to start the season and will look for two more wins this weekend.
On Friday, the Utes welcome the Wyoming Cowboys to the Utah Ice Sheet for the first ever meeting between the two teams. The lone win is against Air Force’s Division III team at home last weekend, where the Cowboys won 1-0.
Tyler Johnson leads the team in points so far this season with three points in four games early this season. In between the pipes, the Cowboys have seen three different goaltenders take the ice already this season with Sloan Locker picking up Wyoming’s lone win this season with a 32-save shutout.
On Saturday the Utes hit the road for just the second time this season, as they wrap up their season series with the Weber State Wildcats in Ogden. The Utes held on for a 3-2 victory at home last weekend against the Wildcats after leading 3-0 in the third period. The Wildcats are 1-5 so far this season and will be looking for revenge at home after their comeback attempt fell short last weekend.
