Ryan Winkelmann (G) commits to Utah M2

University of Utah Men’s Division 2 Hockey has received a commitment from Goaltender Ryan Winkelmann for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Winkelmann is from Southern California. He’s played hockey his whole life, including with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings and JSerra Catholic High School. He took a 3-year hiatus from hockey to race motorcycles from age 12 – 15 but came back to play in high school where he helped finish the season winning a championship game against Fairmont Prep.
“Ryan will be another great addition to our goaltending core this season. He brings sound technique, speed, and an incredibly high work ethic to the crease for us. We couldn’t be happier to have him join our squad and we’re looking forward to seeing him perforin this season,” said Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius.
Winkelmann plans to study Business at the U.
