The University of Utah Hockey organization has opened a public search for the next Women’s Head Coach for the 2023-24 season.
The University of Utah Skatin’ Utes are a self-funded non-profit hockey organization whose mission is to promote the advancement of student athletes both on and off the ice.
Utah Hockey is scheduled to celebrate it’s 17th season this fall, and it’s 6th in Women’s Division 1 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
Job Description:
University of Utah Women’s Hockey competes in Division 1 of the ACHA and is currently seeking a Head Coach for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ability to instill teamwork, discipline, and accountability throughout the team
Demonstrate strong bench management abilities during games and practices
Coordinate and supervise all games, practices, run film sessions, off-season programs and scheduling
Scout and recruit prospective student-athletes to create a highly competitive team
Actively assist in promoting all team players to post-collegiate opportunities when available
Fully adhere with the internal organizational guidelines, policies, and procedures
Ensure team compliance with USA Hockey, University of Utah, ACHA, WWCHL, and Organizational rules and regulations
Assist with recruiting and supervision of assistant coaches
Work professionally with organizational staff and volunteers
Other duties as assigned by the Organization
Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience at the college, junior, or 18U levels preferred
USA Hockey Level 3 Certification or actively pursuing level 3
Strong communication skills
Strong leadership abilities
Detail-oriented with organizational skills
Must pass a background check and complete the required SafeSport Training
Must be professional in approach and represent the team with class and integrity within the hockey and public communities
