Chris Hawk was named Men’s Division 1 Defensive Coach on October 22, 2020.
Hawk is a native of Hickory Corners, Michigan, outside of Kalamazoo. After growing up playing youth and travel hockey in Kalamazoo, he played two years in the Kalamazoo High School League before competing in New England prep hockey for Kimball Union Academy.
While in college, Chris began coaching via summer hockey school at Brooks Elite Hockey School, in North Andover, Massachusetts. He played college hockey with Connecticut College, and then professionally for EC Oberstdorf.
After a season in Germany, Chris returned to the U.S. in pursuit of his career working with adolescents in and around the field of education. He stayed connected with hockey as the assistant coach for the Kalamazoo Eagles high school team; the same team he played for years prior. He then moved to New Hampshire, where he was a teacher, dorm parent, and assistant hockey coach for three years at The New Hampton School; once again, finding himself back in the New England prep hockey atmosphere.
