Utah M1 secures first round bye for 2025 ACHA Nationals

During this evening’s American Collegiate Hockey Association Men’s Division 1 Tournament Rankings Reveal Show, the ACHA announced the final rankings for the 2024-25 hockey season.
With the release, University of Utah Division 1 Men’s Hockey was awarded the #8 seed in the tournament with a 21-6-1 record. The Utes are on a absolute tear this semester with a record of 10-3. This last weekend Utah outscored Oregon 9-0 and 10-2 at the Salt Lake City Sports Complex to finish out the regular season.
In addition, the team was notified they had been awarded a first round bye in the 2025 ACHA Men’s Division 1 National Championship in St Louis, Missouri from March 13-18, 2025.
Utah M1 will be making their second trip to the tournament as a Division 1 team, with the first being the 2023-24 season.

Now in its 34th season of action, there have been a total of 14 schools that have won the ACHA Men’s Division 1 National Championship. Over the past 19 seasons, 12 different schools have won the ACHA Men’s Division I National Championship: Penn State (5), Lindenwood (4), Ohio (4), Adrian (3), Minot State (3), Central Oklahoma (2), Illinois (2), Arizona State, Davenport, Iowa State, Oakland, Delaware, and Rhode Island.
A total of 73 teams will compete in Men’s Division I this season, including former Men’s Division II member Drury University and former Men’s Division III members Northwood University and Saginaw Valley State University.
