Utah M2 secures auto-bid to 2025 ACHA Nationals

This evening the American Collegiate Hockey Association announced the final rankings for the 2024-25 hockey season.
With the release University of Utah Division 2 Men’s Hockey was awarded the #2 seed in the West with a final record of 25-5-3.
In addition, the team was notified they had been awarded the coveted auto-bid to the 2025 ACHA Men’s Division 2 National Championship in St Louis, Missouri from March 14-18, 2025.
Utah M2 has now been awarded the auto-bid for the third time in team history. The two prior occurrences were in 2015 and 2016.
With this, Utah M2 will actually bypass the ACHA Western Regional Tournament entirely. The 2025 Regional tournament is scheduled to occur in Denver, Colorado from February 20-22, 2025. The Regional match-ups were are available here.
Utah M2 now is amongst the top 8 seeds in the country for the 2024-25 season, all of which are listed below.

#2 University of Wisconsin
Northeast Region
#1 Army West Point
#2 Connecticut College
Southeast Region
#1 Florida Gulf Coast University
#2 Liberty University
West Region
#1 Montana State University
#2 University of Utah
Now in its 34th season of action, there have been a total of 18 schools that have won the ACHA Men’s Division 2 National Championship: Life University (5), Florida Gulf Coast (4), Michigan State (4), Davenport (3), Mary (3), NYU (2), Oakland (2), Indiana, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Grand Valley State, Colorado, Miami (OH), Western Michigan, Colorado State, Ferris State, Buffalo State, and Toledo.
A total of 182 teams will compete in Men’s Division 2 this season.
