Utah releases 2013-14 Schedule

After back to back trips to Regionals, the University of Utah Skatin’ Utes released their schedule for the upcoming season as they look for their first trip to Nationals in club history.
The new schedule features 35 games, including 15 home games at the Utah Ice Sheet. Of the 20 road games, 10 will be outside the state of Utah as the Utes take on some of the best teams in the West.
The Utes will begin the 2013-2014 season on the road in Provo against the BYU Cougars on September 20th. The next night on September 21st, the Utes will host #4 Weber State for their first home game of the season. The Utes will wrap up the month with a home game against last year’s national semifinalist, #1 Utah State.
In October, the Utes will defend their PAC-8 title at home against the Cal-Berkeley Golden Bears on October 4th and 5th. After a home game against Weber State on October 11th, the Utes head out for their first road trip of the season sat they take on PAC-8 runner-up Oregon and third place Washington on October 16th-19th.
November will be the busiest for the Utes as seven of their 11 games are against top 15 teams from last year. Those games include the Beehive Showcase in Logan, Utah November 21st-24th, as the Utes take on #5 San Jose State, Boise State, Montana Tech, and #6 Northern Arizona.
The Utes will finish the first semester with a home and home series against Boise State and a road game against BYU in December.
The second semester begins with a home series against Washington January 10th and 11th before the Utes head to Arizona for a three-game weekend against #6 Northern Arizona and #2 Arizona State the following weekend. The month wraps up with a pair of games against Washington State at home January 25th-26th.
As the season heads to its final month, Utah plays host for a final two games against in-state rivals BYU and #1 Utah State. The Utes will also host this year’s PAC-8 Championships February 6th-8th at the Salt Lake Sports Complex where 6 of the 9 PAC-8 teams will play for this year’s title.
In all, the Utes will play 21 games against teams that finished last season in the top 15 in the West Rankings. And for the first time ever, Utah Hockey plans to broadcast all 35 games. Be sure to join us as the Utes begin their Road to Boston!
