Salt Lake City, UT
University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from forward Wyatt Light for the upcoming 2018-19 season.
Wyatt is from Manhattan Beach, CA and most recently played for the New Jersey Rockets in the USPHL where he scored 21 points in 35 games and helped the team win a division title and make a deep run in the playoffs. Before his time in New Jersey, Wyatt spent time with the Vernon Vipers and Coulee Region Chill at the junior level and came through the Los Angeles Jr. Kings youth organization, where he played with current Ute defenseman Guy Petrie.
“Wyatt is a clever, speedy forward who comes to us after a successful junior campaign in the USPHL Premier. He has a strong hockey foundation having spent time with the LA Jr. Kings, and we will look to him to bring lots of energy to the team,” Head Coach Brett Huras said.
Wyatt plans on majoring in Computer Science at the U and is eager to get the season underway and compete for a national championship.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Wyatt and wish him the best in the upcoming season.
