Salt Lake City, Utah
The University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Oliver Craft for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Oliver grew up in Mesa, Arizona where he began playing hockey. Throughout his youth, he bounced around several travel teams around the valley. His last youth team before moving to high school was with the DYHA Jr. Sun Devils 14 U A Gold in the 2017-2018 season.
Craft’s high school didn’t have a hockey team, so to fulfill his passion he played for other teams. He started with the Campo Verde High Coyotes during the 2019-2020 and continued for the 2020-2021 season. He finished high school playing for the Corona del Sol Aztecs. Craft is super excited to finally play and represent the school he attends.
After graduating in 2022, he played a year of Juniors in Minneapolis for the Minnesota Mullets as a part of the USPHL Premier League. Taking a gap year has him eager to get back into the classroom. “I am so excited for this upcoming adventure in a new change of scenery,” said Craft.
Outside of the rink, he loves the gym and anything new.
“We are excited to welcome Oliver to the Utah Hockey Family. Oliver has the grit and effort we have been lacking for winning corner and front-net battles. He will outwork anyone on the ice and will be a pest to play against. I am excited to have him on our squad this season,” said Men’s D1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie.
Oliver plans to study Kinesiology at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Oliver and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
