Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Ethan Light for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Ethan was born in Manhattan Beach, California. He started playing hockey at the age of 5 years old, following in his older brother’s skate strides.
“Ethan will be a huge addition to the program. We are now fortunate to have both Ethan and his brother Wyatt together on the team. Ethan is a shifty forward who will deliver results and is very tough to defend. He has high hockey IQ and is a natural goal scorer. The first time I watched Ethan play, I was impressed with how well he separates himself on the ice and finds opportunities to score. Our coaching staff is excited to have Ethan join the Utah hockey family,” Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie said.
Light started playing for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings, where he played for twelve seasons and led his 18U AAA team in points his senior year. After graduating in 2020, he moved to Minnesota to play in the NA3HL with the Willmar WarHawks. In the 35 games he played with the WarHawks, he scored 17 points.
“After my one year of Juniors, I will be joining the University of Utah as a freshman, and I am extremely excited to do great things for this team,” said Ethan.
Light plans to major in Biology at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Ethan and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
