University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Jack Cadieux for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
John (Jack) is from Carlsbad, California, and will be attending the University of Utah as an incoming freshman. He started playing hockey when he was around four years old, and has loved playing ever since. Growing up he played for the San Diego Junior Gulls for most of his grade school and middle school years, playing at AA and AAA levels. Cadieux also played a season with the San Diego Saints.
His freshmen year of high school, he played at the Junior Varsity level for the Pacific Ridge Hockey Club. The remaining three years of high school, he played at the Varsity Division 1 and 2 levels. In the span of four years, the Pacific Ridge made three league championship appearances and won their first Division 1 Championship in his Junior year.
“Jack will be an excellent addition to the inaugural Division 2 team. His skill on the ice and playmaking ability will be huge for us. We’re very excited to have him,” Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius said.
Outside of the game of hockey, Cadieux is a musician who has been playing the guitar for six years and also enjoys camping and off-roading with friends. He is also a second-degree black bel in traditional Tang Soo Do Karate, and has spent several years, not only practicing but teaching as well.
“I am super excited to join the team and the opportunity to meet new people as I begin a new chapter in my hockey career,” said Cadieux.
Cadieux is planning on studying Business at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Jack and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
