Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Beau Slater for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Beau grew up playing hockey in Utah until he was 14 years old, playing for multiple teams like the Utah Outliers, Salt Lake Lightning, and West Coast Renegades.
“I am really looking forward to playing for the University of Utah this year,” said Slater. “When not at the rink I enjoy fishing and golf.”
As a freshman in high school, he moved to Colorado to play AAA hockey for the Colorado Thunderbirds, where he helped the team win two State Championships. During his time in Colorado, he attended Evergreen High School and Rock Canyon High School.
“We are excited to have picked up Beau. He is a solid player with high hockey IQ. When we were recruiting Beau, we immediately noticed his heavy shot and goal scoring mentality. As we watched more of his play, it became evident that he is a true two-way forward who will contribute on both ends,” Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie said.
Slater is undecided as to his course of study at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Slater and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
