University of Utah Men’s Division 1 Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Evan Richards for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Evan was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. He learned how to skate when he was 4 years old and hasn’t been able to stay off the ice since. He grew through the Boulder Hockey Club program and played varsity hockey during his senior year in high school.
For the past year, Richards played hockey in Long Beach, New York with the Long Beach Sharks in the NA3HL. “I have grown up playing hockey and am very excited to continue my career playing at the collegiate level,” says Richard.
When he is not on the ice, Richards likes to mountaineer, spending 30 days in Alaska this past summer. He is an avid mountain biker and skier; he love the outdoors.
“Evan is a hard-working forward that will add depth to our offensive core. He has high hockey IQ and can move the puck very well. He is strong in the corners and effective on the forecheck. We are very excited to welcome Evan to the Utah Hockey family,” Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie said.
Richards is undecided in his academic focus at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Evan and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
