Salt Lake City, Utah
The University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Jack Gubler for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Jack grew up on Utah Lake in Saratoga Springs, Utah. He started skating shortly after he learned to walk, taking advantage of the Utah winters and the frozen lake. Gubler started playing hockey at 4yrs old at the Olympic Oval, where he played both rec and travel hockey as part of the Oval Dawgs organization.
In 2020, Gubler moved to Switzerland for his Sophomore year of high school where he attended the International School of Basel and played hockey for EHC Basel, a U17 Elite Team.
Gubler moved back to the US for his Junior and Senior years where he continued playing for his high school team, as well as his travel team. His high school team, Utah County Independent North, took the State Championship in 2022 and went on to Nationals where they finished in 6th place. He earned the Captain spot for UCI-N his Senior year, finishing out the season at #2 in the State.
Off the ice, Gubler has been involved in student leadership throughout high school and is looking forward to getting involved with ASUU this coming Fall semester. He loves skiing, wake surfing, and spending time with his friends and family in the outdoors.
“We’re excited to add Jack to the roster for this upcoming season. His size and physical play along with his competitive level will be a big addition for us this year,” said Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Jack and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
