University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Defenseman Jordyn Baker for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
Jordyn is from West Jordan, Utah where she is graduating from Copper Hills High School. She began playing hockey years ago and competed for the Utah High School State Championship in 2018 with her team. As the assistant captain of the Varsity team, Jordyn has shown her leadership abilities on and off the ice. She has always played in a male dominant environment and is excited to experience an all female team.
While juggling rigorous school work and internships, she has passionately pursued her love of the game and is excited to continue those dreams with the University of Utah Women’s Hockey program.
“It is our true honor to add yet another Utah native to our roster with the addition of defenseman, Jordyn Baker. Jordyn’s previous hockey experiences come from a coed atmosphere and we are excited to watch her transfer her skill set over to the all female game. We look forward to the value that she will add to our program and are beyond excited to watch her grow and further her game at the University of Utah,” said Head Coach Morgan Marietti.
Jordyn is planning to graduate from the University of Utah with a Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Jordyn and wish her the absolute best in the upcoming season!
