University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Kevin Kite for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Kevin started playing hockey at the age of 7 in his hometown of Lynchburg, Virginia for the Lynchburg Coyotes. He has played for 5 other clubs in 3 states over the course of his career, including the Charlottesville Ice Bears in VA, the Pineville Falcons in North Carolina, the Utah Jr. Grizzlies, the Utah High School Selects, and the Davis County Independent High School Team in Utah.
Kite spent his junior and senior year of high school as the captain of his high school team, putting up 49 points in 22 games his senior year. His favorite hockey moment was scoring the game winning goal with the Pineville Falcons with 0.3 seconds left in the game.
“I hope to use my love of hockey to coach kids both on and off the ice once I am done playing. I also hope to continue playing hockey after college at a competitive level,” said Kite.
In his free time, he loves talking to his family, playing video games, and playing pickleball with his friends.
“We’re excited to add Kevin to the squad this year and we’re expecting him to be an asset for us in all zones of the ice. His size and leadership will be a presence on the ice and in the locker room,” said Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius.
Kite plans to study Kinesiology at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Kevin and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
