Michael Urtis (F) Commits to Utah

University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Michael Urtis for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Michael was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois where he graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep in 2019.
Urtis moved to Canada to play the next two years of Junior Hockey, first with Pickering Panthers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, where he was part of a deep playoff run cut short by COVID-19. He achieved 19 points (7 goals and 12 assists) across 48 games. In his most recent season playing junior hockey, Urtis played for the Provo Riverbladesof the U.S. Premiere Hockey League. He achieved 64 points across 44 games, while also being named Captain.
“Urtis will be a big addition for our team. He is a true two-way center and a fantastic playmaker. I’ve watched him play and he always seems to produce when he’s on the ice. We are excited to have a player who will come in and immediately be a leader for us,” Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie said.
Urtis plans to study Finance at the U.
