Nolan Carpenter (F) commits to Utah

University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Nolan Carpenter for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Nolan grew up playing youth hockey with the Billings Bulls, Cheyenne Capitals, and Salt Lake Lightning programs through his U14 years. He started his freshman year of high school with the Salt Lake Stars, while also playing travel with the Utah Red Grizz. For the 2017-2018 season, Nolan took some time away from hockey to go on a State department-sponsored foreign exchange to Germany as a Youth Ambassador to the United States. His Junior year, he returned to the ice in Utah and went to USA Hockey High School Nationals with the Stars. During his senior year (2019-2020), Nolan was the captain for the Stars and an alternate captain for the Utah Golden Eagles U18 Tier II team.
“Nolan will be an exceptional addition for us on the ice this season. He is very capable offensively and defensivley and we are excited to have him on the team for the upcoming campaign,” Men’s Division 2 Head Coach Nick Fornelius said.
When Carpenter in not playing, you might still find him at the rink. He is a 2nd-year assistant coach for the Salt Lake Storm high school hockey program. In addition, he is a Level 3 USA Hockey Official and has been officiating for seven years. Away from the rink, he likes to play tennis and golf, and is also helping to start a chapter of the fraternity Pi Kappa Phi on campus.
Carpenter is studying Marketing at the U.
