Owen Leberknight (F) commits to Utah

University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Owen Leberknight for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

Owen is from Rapid City, SD and is the brother of current Ute defenseman Tristen Leberknight. He most recently played for the Wisconsin Muskies in the USPHL and spent a season with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs in the EHL as well. Before leaving South Dakota, Owen won two state championships with Rushmore Hockey and two national championships with Team South Dakota at the U16 level.

“Owen is a strong two-way player who also possesses a scoring touch. He is quietly confident and he will be expected to step in and contribute to the team immediately,” said Head Coach Brett Huras.

Owen plans to major in Civil Engineering and is excited to join his brother at the U.
