Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Men’s Division 1 Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Trent Gephart for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Originally from Tampa, Florida, Trent started playing hockey when he was 5 years old. He played for the Tampa Bay 2001 AAA Hockey Club growing up until Juniors. For Gephart’s first 2 years of Juniors he played for the Tampa Bay Juniors where he racked up 86 points in 102 games.
Gephart moved to Utah, to play for the Utah Outliers for the last 3 years, putting up 85 points in 135 games. His second year in Utah, he was named an assistant captain and then captain his last year. He helped the team win back-to-back division championships with the Outliers and made Nationals each year he played juniors.
“Trent is a natural leader. His positive attitude and work ethic is exactly what we are looking for in our players. I had a chance to watch him play in multiple junior games over the years and he was often the hardest working guy on the ice. His play style will bring the necessary energy to the team, and I am excited to see what he can do for us,” Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie said.
Gephart plans to study Architecture at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Trent and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
