Utes Take on Arizona in PAC-12 Battle
November 10, 2017
Salt Lake City, UT
The Utah Skatin’ Utes are back at home this weekend as they welcome in the Arizona Wildcats for the first time in program history.
The Wildcats make their first ever trip to Salt Lake City for games on Friday and Saturday as the Utes will look to knock off another top 25 opponent and gain some momentum as the first semester begins to wind down. The Wildcats are ranked 14th in this week’s ACHA Division 1 rankings, falling two spots after sweeping Colorado State at home last weekend. The Wildcats are 10-5 on the season.
The Utes are coming off a pair of losses last weekend to #1 Minot State and #13 Jamestown in North Dakota and are looking to snap their eight-game losing streak to Division I opponents. The Utes are 4-10 on the season and are 1-10 in Division I play.
This weekend’s meeting between these two PAC-12 schools will be the first since the Utes went down to Tucson last season and swept the weekend, picking up a pair of 4-3 wins. All-time the Utes are 2-2 against the Wildcats with all four games taking place in Arizona.
Alex King has taken over the team lead in points with 10 so far on the season and also leads the team in goals with six. Rookie Colby Birch has the team lead in assists with seven.
Friday night’s game against the Wildcats is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm MT and Saturday’s contest will begin at 7pm MT. Both games will be at the Utah Ice Sheet at the Salt Lake City Sports Complex.
