Sam Brickley (D) commits to Utah

Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Sam Brickley for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
“I am excited to start this new chapter in my career,” Brickley said.
Sam was born and raised in Sandy, Utah along with his older brother and sister. He has been loving hockey since he was four years old, when his dad taught him to play. He spent every opportunity he could at the rink with his dad.
Growing up in Utah, he played both his high school hockey team, the Park City Miners, and travel hockey, the Salt Lake Stars. After high school, he split his first season of Juniors in the North American Prospect League with the CarShield AAA 18U and the Western States Hockey League with the El Paso Rhinos. His next season was spent in the Central Canada Hockey League with the Kanata Lasers and Renfrew Wolves. His final year of Junior was in the North America 3 Hockey League with the Long Beach Sharks.
“We are thrilled to have Brickley join our team. Being a local player, I have been fortunate to watch Sam develop over the past years into a very solid Defenseman who will add depth to our strong defensive core. His ability to move the puck and make plays in both zones results in him being a threat regardless of where he is on the ice. Off the ice, Sam is the epitome of a great teammate. His positive attitude and outlook is exactly what we look for in recruits and I am eager to see how he contributes to our culture. Our coaching staff has high expectations for Brickley and we are confident he will deliver,” Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie said.
Besides hockey, some of his other hobbies include baseball, golf, boating, and fishing. He loves spending time with family and friends, especially at Flaming Gorge.
Brickley will be studying Business at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Sam and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
