Salt Lake City, Utah
University of Utah Men’s Division 1 Hockey has received a commitment from Forward Jett Arminen for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Jett was born in San Diego, California and raised in Utah. He grew up playing hockey in Utah before moving to Canada to pursue his hockey career in Juniors. He began playing with the Notre Dame Hounds out of Wilcox, Saskatchewan, Canada. Part way through the season, he joined the Notre Dame Argos, Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL) for the remainder of the season and into the next.
After the 2018-2019 season ended, Arminen moved back to Utah and played with the Utah Outliers, currently in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL). He played a season and a half with the Outliers before finishing the 2020-2021 season with the Fresno Monsters. His final season of Juniors was played with the Lake Tahoe Lakers.
“I’m coming to the University of Utah with goals to help this team grow and make it 4 years to remember,” said Arminen.
“We are excited to welcome Jett to the Utah Hockey family. Jett is a natural goal scorer and will contribute to our already powerful offensive attack. Every time I watch Jett play, I am impressed by the way he sees the ice and can find the soft spots. He is difficult forward to defend and expect great things from him,” Men’s Division 1 Head Coach Morgan Feenie said.
Arminen plans to study Business and Entrepreneurship at the U.
Utah Hockey would like to welcome Jett and wish him the absolute best in the upcoming season!
